Training Room Members Excel at the Summer Games

Last weekend, seven members from Training Room competed in the 2nd edition of the Summer Games, organized by Tripod and Black Bird. The event was a test of strength, endurance, and teamwork, with Training Room fielding three teams across different categories.
Training Room Teams and Performances:
-
Team Black Bird: David Smith Cordina, Jonathon Sant, and Anna Aloisio represented Training Room, along with Jenny from CF356. Competing in the Intermediate category, they finished in a commendable tied 4th place overall with 33 points. Team Black Bird achieved one event win (WOD 2A) and narrowly missed the podium by just one point behind the 3rd place team, FLEX APPEAL. This was the second competition for Team Black Bird this year, following their participation in the Hungarian Throwdown a few months ago, with just one team member change.
-
Team NG Made Us Do It: Comprising Sacha Meli and Emma Zammit from Training Room, joined by Kim and Colin, this team secured 8th place overall. The competition was especially meaningful for Sacha, who shared in an Instagram post about the emotional significance of competing alongside Colin, who had overcome an accident a few years ago. Sacha noted how this competition fulfilled a promise and highlighted the power of determination and resilience.
-
Team Gli Squali: Consisting Training Room coach Federico Judais, alongside Luana from CF356, and Malcolm and Christina from Tripod, this team excelled in the RX category, earning a podium finish. Even though they finished with equal points as the first place finishers, Gli Squali finished in 2nd place with Team Que Calor taking the win based on the amount of event wins. Federico and his teammates won three events over the weekend and placed second in all other events.
The three-day event began with a two-part workout on Friday evening, followed by two events on Saturday, and concluded with two workouts on Sunday, leading up to a final event on Sunday afternoon.
Training Room is incredibly proud of all its members for their outstanding efforts and resilience throughout the weekend. Competing in intense heat and under challenging conditions, each team represented Training Room with honor and showcased their dedication and spirit. Congratulations to all the athletes for their remarkable achievement, we're super proud of you.
